Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Phu Yen (Son La Province) (Approx. 200 km / 6 hours ride)

• Morning: We kick off our motorbike tour by departing from the Gia Hung Motorbike Rental office (41 Ngo Huyen street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi). We'll take rural roads to expertly avoid heavy city traffic and break out of the Red River Delta plains. Our route skirts along the Red River towards Son Tay, then leads us through tranquil countryside to Phu Yen, a charming small mountain town in Son La Province, where we'll have our first stop-over.
• Lunch & Dinner: Enjoy local cuisine for lunch and dinner.
• Evening: Settle into a comfortable guesthouse in Phu Yen for the night.
• Highlights: Rural escape, scenic countryside, introduction to mountainous Vietnam.

Day 2: Phu Yen – Than Uyen (Lai Chau Province) (Approx. 180-200 km / 5-6 hours ride)

• Morning: After breakfast, we hit the road, riding our motorcycles across the historic Lung Lo Pass before heading up on Road 32. This 15km-long pass holds significant historical importance, having been heavily bombed during the Dien Bien Phu campaign. It's now recognized as a national heritage, offering both dramatic landscapes and a glimpse into Vietnam's past.
• Lunch: We'll stop for lunch along the way, enjoying local dishes.
• Afternoon: Our ride continues through the magnificent Mu Cang Chai massif, almost as high as the famous Fansipan peak. From the top, prepare for one of the most breathtaking views in Northern Vietnam, showcasing endless terraced rice fields. The ride today is challenging but incredibly rewarding, offering unparalleled photographic opportunities.
• Evening: Arrive in Than Uyen, a town nestled in Lai Chau Province. Check into your hotel for a well-deserved rest.
• Highlights: Historic Lung Lo Pass, challenging ride through Mu Cang Chai with stunning terraced fields, panoramic views.

Day 3: Than Uyen – Sapa (Lao Cai Province) (Approx. 120-150 km / 4-5 hours ride)

• Morning: After breakfast, we ride our motorcycles straight towards the impressive Fansipan Mountain range. You'll have the option for a very challenging back route which involves several thrilling river crossings, adding an extra layer of adventure to your journey.
• Ascent to Tram Ton Pass: The massive mountain range dominates the road until we begin a splendid climb up from Binh Lu and ascend to the top of Vietnam's highest road pass, Tram Ton Pass (O Quy Ho Pass).
• Views & Descent: Crossing into Lao Cai Province at over 2,000m, the views stretch out over the main range for miles and miles, offering truly magnificent vistas. Finally, we'll descend into the picturesque mountainous Sapa valley.
• Lunch & Dinner: Enjoy lunch along the way and dinner in Sapa.
• Evening: Check into your hotel in Sapa, a town famous for its fine, rugged scenery and rich cultural diversity.
• Highlights: Iconic Fansipan views, conquering Tram Ton Pass (highest in Vietnam), stunning Sapa valley arrival, vibrant mountain town atmosphere.

Day 4: Sapa Exploration & Overnight Train to Hanoi (Approx. 40 km ride)

• Morning: Today is dedicated to exploring the captivating Sapa region. After breakfast, we'll embark on a full day of discovery, visiting local Sapa villages and interacting with hill tribe communities. You'll witness their unique traditions, handicrafts, and daily lives amidst stunning rice terraces (trekking or short rides to villages).
• Lunch & Free Time: Enjoy lunch in Sapa. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore Sapa town, shop for beautiful handicrafts and souvenirs, or simply relax and chat with locals, many of whom speak excellent English and can share lovely stories about their traditions.
• Evening Journey: In the late afternoon, we'll ride down from Sapa to the train station in Lao Cai city. Here, we'll catch the comfortable night train back to Hanoi, providing a unique and relaxing way to conclude your adventure.
